Good Driver Discount

One of the different types of discounts a car insurance company may offer to policyholders is the good driver discount. This discount is awarded to drivers and policyholders who have a clean driving record without traffic violations or accidents for which they are at fault in a given period of time.

The period of good driving required varies with each insurance company, but it averages at three years. Some companies give good drivers a flat discount, typically 20%, each year they are violation and accident free. Others give a smaller discount, like 2%, each year a driver has a clean record, not to exceed 20%.
